Just to catch you up on some of my progress...I am a purebred lab (AKC Registered) and have online paperwork to prove it...not that my cuteness will win you over more than the registration. I am still skeptical about sudden movements and will head the other direction if frightened. I will also drop to the floor if I cannot escape to a safer place. But my foster family is working on getting me used to the busy-ness of their schedule. I live with three children (12, 10, and 7). You can imagine it gets loud and rambunctious around here. I also live with another lab and a cat (which I could care less about). Seeing as I came from the breeder, I do not know how to play. My foster people tried to get me to play with a tennis ball and I ran away from it because it made me scared. There are a lot of toys (stuffies) around the house, but I could care less about them. I am just enjoying being inside for the first time in my life.
As you may have known, I will be a longer foster because I have to work on building my confidence about being in the house and getting attention from people. I am always arms length from anyone and when you call me, I am very skeptical about coming to you. Right now, I would rather be alone. No one knows my situation where I was before or if I had any kind of human interaction...so I am working on being around people. My vet visit will not be until November 21st...so it will be more like December before I start to see potential families.
I would love to meet you and see if we click. I promise you that I will not purposely "duck" out on you...I just have to build my confidence about people.

Hello all!! Duck here with some information about myself. I am one of the older dogs (7 years old) who came from the breeder with the rest of my crew. I am learning how to become a dog everyday. I am still afraid of people coming at me quickly (I will turn around and go the other way) or making loud noises (there are these three small people in the house called kids and they do make noise) but I am slowly adjusting to life in a house. A small success is when I am outside and I am called, I do come in willingly. If I am someone you would like to meet, please fill out the adoption application (labadoption.org) and ask for Duck!
