Hello Labbie Lovers, My name is Oakley, and I am a purebred chocolate Labrador. When I came in to foster care, my owner said I was 7 years old. But when I went to the Vet for my vaccinations, they said I was more like 10 or 11. So my foster parents are going with the average and saying I am 9 years old. There is no way of finding out because I did not come with paperwork. I am a bigger boy, weighing in at 93 pounds. I do have some trouble getting up, but I blame that on my weight and my foster home's hardwood floors. If I am on my dog bed or carpet, I have no problems. I live with 2 cats, a dog, and 2 children (3 years old and 10 months old). I get along with everyone!! I let the 10 month old crawl all over me! If you are looking for an active dog, I would not be a good fit for your family. I ride great in the car and walk super on a leash. I do not need to be kenneled when you are gone, and I do not get into anything either...except toys that are not mine. If you have little ones, I will take their stuffed animals and claim them as my own. However, if you take it away, I do not get snarky and growl…but would rather have toys that have no previous dog drool on them. If you think I am a good fit for your family, please consider adopting me. I will please you immensely and give you all the love I have, and more. Oakley
From the foster home: Senior dogs are not throw aways. They have a bigger heart to share because they have seen and experienced more pain and heartbreak. But they also have shared the greatest gift that anyone can receive…love. All these dogs want is to be loved. Will you open up your home to a senior dog this holiday season?
