Update: 1/21/15
Sophie is now 4 1/2 months old. She is a quick learner and enjoys her days playing. She is now potty trained. When she needs to go out, she "speaks" at the door and sits when she comes in, so her paws can be wiped off. She loves to play fetch and "fetches" the paper for us every morning. She proudly struts in front of our dog, Maggie, making sure that Maggie sees she has the paper.
Her 2 favorite toys are balls. Since she can't carry both of them, she will put one in her mouth and push the other one around with her paws. She knows not to eat Maggie's food but will check to see if anything is left over for her. She is disappointed every time. She loves romping through the snow and burying her face in it.
While Sophie is crate-trained, we do allow her to sleep on our bed at night. She is not one to snuggle, just prefers to sleep by our feet. There's nothing better than coming home from work and being greeted by her happy face, puppy kisses and wagging tail!

Dear Santa,
Hi, my name is Sophie, and I'm a 14 week old, black Lab mix puppy. I'm trying really hard to be a good girl cause I want you to bring me just one thing, a forever family!
I'm being very helpful here at my foster home. I help pick up the leaves and sticks in the yard, and I help take the laundry out of the dryer. I'm really good at finding things too, like shoes and gloves.
My forever family will need to give me lots of attention and training to help me be the best dog ever. I'm working on that potty training thing, and I do well most of the time, but sometimes when I'm excited and playing, I forget. I don't mind going in my crate, I complain for a little bit because I don't want to miss out on anything, but if you give me a little treat, that makes it a little better.
So Santa, will you please put me on your "nice" list and bring me my forever family…
