I would like to introduce myself. I am a VERY tall, lean, yellow, handsome, approximately 18-month boy with golden eyes. . more so then your average Labbie. Since I was a stray and didn’t have a name, my foster Mom just kept going through names with me, and Bud stuck. She is thinking I might have had a name kinda’ sounding the same-I’m not telling though.
She walked me right into her house. She had these little black dogs - I didn’t even care...I walked right in. We all sniffed each other. I paced ALL afternoon and right through the night . . .playing with all the toys. Those shelters can limit a handsome guy's sense of the good life being noisy with no one-on-one playtime. So I’m making up for lost time. Oh, I lifted my leg to pee, and boy o boy - I heard a loud NOOOO. So I've learned REALLY quickly I can't do that inside. OUTSIDE is a word I’ve learned, and I’ve learned that’s where I go to use the bathroom – I am a quick learner.
I know a few things: I sit right down when asked; and I like to shake hands - or maybe it's a high five. My foster family doesn’t have cats, but I did go with my foster Mom to a feed store to pick up some dog food where there was a very smart, dog-experienced cat. I was interested and sniffed him, and he batted me with his paws - he was not afraid of me. I was curious and didn’t run. So MAYBE a very dog-smart cat and I might be able to live together. We will get back to you with more info on cats.
I love to fetch any toys thrown...Mom’s only issues right now is I’m a food beggar. I just sit and stare....and stare while they eat. I ride nicely in the car . . . I take a little time, then settle right in. My foster mom has been trusting me in the house for short periods, and I’ve been a good boy, but I have also stayed in a crate and am fine. I pull on a leash but other then that no issues. I live with 2 older kids in my foster home. Kids over 10 yrs might be best because of my size . . .I don’t want to knock little ones over.
