11/2/24 Hi! I’m Cub. My Foster Mom has lots of other silly names for me, but this one is my favorite. I came to L.E.A.R.N. from the breeder with lots of other friends. I’m 15 months old, born 7/13/23. I’m on the smaller side, but I make up for it because I have a big heart that is overflowing with love to give.
Learning to be in a house has sure been an adventure. There are these things Foster Mom keeps calling stairs, I’m not so sure about them. Luckily to get everywhere I want to go there are only two or three, so I do it the easy way skip them. No, no, no. I don’t avoid them, I skip them. I stand at the bottom (or top) and jump to the next landing or hallway. It works great. I don’t know why everyone keeps giggling when I do it. It’s fun! I am learning to sit, and I’m pretty proud when I hear someone tell me how well I did it. They say there are more things to learn, and I’m game. I’m a pretty smart guy. I’m doing ok most of the time in my crate and Mom said I’m doing really well learning to go potty outside. Today she started bumping my nose on a bell before we go outside, she feels pretty confident that I’ll catch on and be able to tell her when it’s potty time.
I have a Foster Brother and Sister who are trying to show me the ropes. I think they are pretty cool, but for now I’d rather stick to my Mom’s leg all day. She works from home, so we just chill together. I have found some bones I like, but still trying to figure out what to do with all the toys lying around. Sometimes the other dogs do this thing where they bow down really low in front of me and bark, I’m not really sure what they are doing. Mom keeps saying that they want to play with me. I just don’t understand it. I guess I still have some things to learn about being a dog.
But I do know three things. I absolutely love being with people and getting loved on. And I also know that there are spots on my chest, back, and belly that make me melt into people for more love when they scratch me there. I’m also pretty sure I can get used to this indoor-dog life.
I almost forgot! TREATS! Holy cow do I love to get treats.
