Hi everyone, I’m Cocoa.
I am about 7 years old and I’ve been told I look like a classic chocolate lab. I have been with my foster family for a couple of weeks and I got comfortable here very quickly. I have a doggie brother and a doggie sister and we get along well. Sometimes my brother gets grumpy and growls at other dogs, but he doesn’t mind me too much because I give him space. I love, love, love people and other dogs! I get so excited when I meet them that I jump up on them. I try not to be too rough, but I am still working on being polite. When my family is gone or sleeping I usually sleep in my crate. I go right in whenever somebody leads me over there and says “kennel up” because I know I will get a nice long nap on a comfortable bed. I love to snuggle and like to be on the couch with my people. I love to lick my people too so hopefully you don’t mind. I will usually stop if you ask me nicely and distract me, but it’s just so much fun giving kisses to people!
I love going for walks in the neighborhood or hikes in the woods. I’m about 65 pounds, and I could stand to lose a few. My job in my previous home was to have babies, so that made it hard to keep my figure. But now my job is just to be cute and give snuggles – I loved all my babies, but snuggling is a lot less work!
I like riding in the car too, and if my people go into a store I just sit quietly and look out the window or I take a little snooze if they’re gone for a while. My family says I am a 7 out of 10 on energy, but I settle down nicely in the house. When we are walking I get excited when we see other dogs or people. I make squeaky noises and pull on my leash. I am working on settling down when my people tell me to, but I just want to say hi to everyone! I get especially excited when I see squirrels or rabbits, so it would probably be hard for all of us if you have a cat.
I love my foster family but I really hope I can find a forever family, I would love it if you would come and meet me.
