9/2/2020 Hi there, My name is Gatsby. I am a sweet, almost 9 year old, gentle boy who enjoys car rides and playing fetch. My Mom passed away so I am in a foster home now. I am a calm guy and not excited by loud noises or distractions or anything. I am not needy or jumpy or anything like that. But if you have food, I will be your best friend EVER!!! I have been trained to bark for treats, but foster Mom has not heard me bark yet. She is good at handing out the treats without my barking. :) Lol! I am told that I sit for treats very well too! I walk great on a leash. I enjoy just walking around and smelling stuff. I was very friendly and outgoing in my original home environment. I had a little dog and a cat that I got along great with. Now that I am in my foster home, I am more self-reserved. One cat, Gracie, has become my best buddy. She always sits right by me. The little cat, Nugget, just hisses at me though. Not sure what his problem is. I just ignore him. I am very independent and currently not a cuddle bug, but maybe I will be once I warm up to the new place. However, I do enjoy sitting on the couch with my foster Mom. I like to be close, just on my own terms. I have never been around kids and since I like to have contact on my own terms, it is best that I go to a home that has older kids that understand and respect that about me. I have not been crated. I prefer to be a couch potato and I have shown no interest in finding anything to chew on. My foster Mom says I am perfect. Other Pictures of Gatsby (click to see larger version):
