Keaton is a 5 year old, 100 pound, purebred chocolate Labbie. We are still getting to know him, but so far he is a very sweet boy, and gets along very well with everyone. He has a mild case of Hypothyroidism but otherwise is very healthy. We will update his information as we get to know him better.

Update.

Keaton has proved to be a very sweet boy. He was surrendered to the shelter when his family had some financial problems and could not afford to keep him. Lucky for him, the shelter contacted LEARN and he is flourishing. He had a rough first few days and was very upset. He would not urinate more than once every 12 hours!  The vet said it was just behavioral and not to worry since his blood work looked fine, except for the thyroid. She turned out to be right. He has since started to go outside pretty much every time we take him out. We have him on a low dose of thyroid medication, which he will need indefinitely, but the good thing is, its fairly inexpensive.

He is quite a character, and howls in the most pathetic way when a fire truck goes by. He does like to chase a ball once in a while, but looses interest pretty quickly, so he is probably not going to be a jogging partner. He's more of a cuddle partner.

He is great with other dogs and LOVES his walks, even though he has yet to relieve himself on a walk. He has been to the dog park a few times and likes to go, but I think he just likes going for a ride in the car. He seems a little afraid, or just apprehensive, of the other dogs if they come up to him and just walks away from them.

He's a beautiful boy, but is pretty stubborn if he doesn't want to do something, so he needs a family that will work with him.
