*** ON HOLD ***

Hi everyone! My name is Gingersnap, which I now know and will come running whenever you call my name. My foster mom and dad gave me the name Gingersnap because of my sugar-frosted face and paws. But don't let all that sugar-frosting make you think I'm getting way up in years. My foster family's vet thinks I'm only about 8 years old because of my clear eyes and great teeth.

I only arrived at my foster family's home a week ago, so they tell me I am "on hold" until they get to know me better. But I can tell you that I LOVE everything about this good life, especially after being in the shelter after I was found as a stray. I heard someone say that my former family didn't want to reclaim me, but I'm not going to think about that because it makes me sad--plus, I am so happy here! I love all the good food and the multiple meals I'm getting a day. I also get along great with my foster canine sister, who is also a Lab. My foster canine brother isn't too sure about me yet, but I sure would like to be friends with him, too!

They tell me I have a hound-dog bark with hound-dog jowls to match. They also tell me I am so sweet and adorable as can be. I've been showing off my basic skills, such as sit, come, and down. We're working on leash training because I do like to pull--I just get so excited to see the big wonderful world out there! But when my foster mom says, "crate time," I fly into my crate and sleep straight through the night without a peep. Sometimes, during the day, I like to hang out in my crate, too, with the door open. I do have to confess that if given the chance, I will counter surf. (My biggest score to date: an entire stick of butter!)

Did I mention I discovered the basket overflowing with squeaky toys? Well, I had to pull every single toy out of the basket and throw myself a squeaky toy party! I share all the toys well with my foster sister, who loves to play, too.

I'll post another update in a couple weeks, after I have another vet visit to re-check my right ear, which was mighty sore and infected when I arrived here. I'm also taking something called Apoquel every day, which has stopped my paws from itching.

One more thing: I love to snuggle and give fluffy, feathery little kisses.
