Stop the Madness: Peanut’s Holiday of Hope Labradors She will be on meds for Lyme's disease and worms for a couple more weeks but seem to be feeling fine. She is a bit gimpy on the front end. So a forever family who doesn't want to do a lot of exercise with her would be best. ANYA UPDATE January 2, 2017 Anya is thought to be about 5 years old. Considering those 5 years were spent living outside in the elements with limited, extremely poor quality, if any, food and care, she is as sweet as can be. Anya's forever home would be one that can take her for a few short walks a day or a little play time in the back yard. As mentioned before, extended exercise impacts her joints. Anya needs some love, a couch to spread out on, and lots of stuffed animals. She likes to see how many she can get in her mouth at one time and then makes snoring noises as she carries them around. She's also a fan of playing a little tug. Anya tends to devour her food so it would be best if she had a slow feeder to control how quickly she takes it in. Anya is a good little girl but doesn't know any commands. We start a Manners 101 class in a week but Anya would benefit from continued classes and exposure to new stimulus. She has started to engage a little bit more with her foster brother. She still seems rather indifferent about him in the grand scheme of things but now at least acknowledges him. Anya is also a little famous, see her TV spot... http://www.channel3000.com/news/22-dogs-get-new-lease-on-life-after-being-rescued-from-abusive-home/260051243 ANYA UPDATE February 7, 2017 Sweet Anya had a couple lumps so she made a visit to the vet to have them biopsied. They came back as cancerous so a subsequent surgery was scheduled. Anya is a champ and breezed through surgery and recovery. Anya is now cancer FREE!!! Through it all she never gave up her stuffed animals or her loving disposition. She is done with all her surgical medications and will have her stitches out soon. Anya hasn't had to negotiate steps as her current home is a ranch. She recently stayed a couple night's with friends where she quickly learned how to use the stairs to get to the second floor. She is maneuvering them like a champ! Anya is no longer crated and has free run of the house. She has not bothered anything unless you leave some good eats on the kitchen counter or table. Anya's definition of good eats is quite broad... That said, she hasn't ever taken anything else but the eats. If, for example, you left a blue bag filled with dog training treats for agility class on your kitchen table, Anya wouldn't leave a mark on your blue bag but there would not be a single treat left behind. Anya would love to be an only furbaby so she can have all the attention to herself. She still loves to be pet and cuddled on the couch.
