Hank was a Retrievers and Redemption program dog. He was a shy dog and became attached to his handler. To understand his true character, it was decided to take him to shy dog training and also move him into a foster home. This kid has flourished in his foster home. He is cautious of new people, but after a few visits, he warms up to those visitors that were once "strange". He is housebroken, knows basic commands, is not food motivated but will eat his meals. He will go into a crate with a little bribery, but he is well mannered when he is left alone. Hank is living in a home with two small, but active dogs. He has done well with the Littles, but is not an alpha, and would do better with the guidance of another dog. Hank has 2 personal trainers (us) that provide a constant diet of Chuck-It fetch games, with a preference for the glow-in-the-dark ball. Hank rides well in a vehicle and travels for distances well. He would be best suited for an active, outdoorsy family, one that would consider taking him on hikes, running or agility work. f you are interested in meeting Hank and have already filled out an adoption application and have had an interview, please email labmatch@labadoption.org.
