6/29/17 update: Hello! Today my foster mom took me shooting! When I was brought to LEARN my foster family was told I was gunshy. Over the last few months my foster mom noticed I had no fear of loud noises. And every time I hear do a gunlike noise I would look into the sky for the bird. Today when shooting I was so happy and wasn't scared when standing right next to the shooter! Although, my foster family doesn't know how many hunting commands I know, or what type of hunting I did. I for sure know that when the gun goes off something falls out of the sky! But, my foster family knows for sure that I love being a regular dog too. I love playing and snuggling with you, but also love guns! So I will not be a good dog to keep in a kennel at times we aren't hunting. 6/2/17 Update: Hello everyone! As some may know, I was treated for heartworm a few months ago. Well, I am completely back to my normal self! I have really started to love soccer balls....sometimes even more than a tennis balls! My foster mom says she really wishes everyone could see how far I have come since my first day here. I no longer try to chase her pet duckies when we sit out on the deck, I lay and relax in the sun. I know when to relax and I know when it is time to go crazy and play! Also, I have mastered roll over and crawl! But, I also know how to sit handsome! And my foster mom discovered I really like to play fetch with other dogs, I enjoy racing to the ball! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You may remember that I was here before but I was returned shortly after being adopted. No one is sure why it happened but I was naughty. I didn’t mean to be a naughty boy and had never shown that kind of behavior before but I bit. When I was returned I went straight back to board and train and had every behavioral test done to see if I would do it again or do some other bad behavior but I didn’t! I was a good boy!!! I passed every challenge they threw at me and I was able to go back to my foster home. So please don’t let one bad decision turn you away from me, we all make a mistake now and then... I am a very good boy that loves to play! My foster mom started doing agility with me as a way to get some of my energy out. So far I am doing amazing, my favorite thing about agility is the tunnel! Another way I get tired out is fetch!! I absolutely love fetching a tennis ball, or searching in a field for my tug! Do you like spending warm days at the beach? Me too, I love swimming! I might even be a good dock diver?! I am also a sweet boy and a good listener. I do have a ton of energy, but I am very controlled! In addition to having basic Obedience training I know how to give paw, crawl, and I'm working on roll over. I have excellent manners, I wait at the door until you say I'm free. I do beg, unless I'm told to go to my bed and lay down. I wait and give you eye contact when waiting for my food or waiting for you to throw my toy. I need a active family that will have time to exercise me and will continue to keep up with my obedience. While I do have a lot of energy, once I get into a daily exercise routine I do not act so hyper. Please come out and visit me, I promise you won't regret it!

I went to Board and Train! I went there to learn to focus not so much on the ball but on people when they are talking to me. I have come a long way and am much better at realizing that a ball isn't all that there is to life. Don't get me wrong; I still love to play ball, but now I walk better on a leash, will come and drop the ball when you ask me to, and will settle down and be still even when a ball is right there in front of me. I think a family who is active and will keep up my training would be the best fit for me. I am no couch potato, that is for sure. If you think I sound like a good fit for you and your family, please send an email to LEARN. ===================================================================== Hi there! My name is Dallas. I'm about 4 years old, and, boy, do I have energy to BURN! I am part of the Retrievers and Redemption Program. I am food motivated and can focus pretty well if there are no balls/toys in site. A ball is my favorite thing in the world. I am actually a bit obsessed over it and will keep looking for it even when you say we are done playing. So making me take a break now and then is a good thing for me.
