Lucky is an 11-month old, solid black, 68 pound, neutered, male Lab mix. He's a typical happy-go-lucky puppy with lots of energy and personality. He's perfectly housebroken and can probably be given the run of the house as he doesn't appear to be destructive at all.  However, until we get a good sense of how he is by himself, we are crating him. He does very well in the crate and is quiet while we're gone, although he does have two foster brothers to keep him company when we are not home.

Lucky rides very well in the car and goes to a dog park every day, which is exactly what he needs to get out his energy. After some running and playing with the other dogs, he comes home for a nice nap and is very good for the evening. He will try to get my two dogs to play with him, but after they ignore him or give him a correction, he gets it, and leaves them alone. He is food motivated, which is always helpful with training, but he's not a maniac. He doesn't counter surf, and takes treats very gently from your hand.

He LOVES other dogs and loves to greet them on walks. He always tries to engage them, and if the other dog is up to it, he will play as long he is allowed to. He has lived with a six and an eight year old, as well as cats, although he apparently liked to chase the cats.

If he gets really excited he will be a little jumpy and sometimes mouthy, which is typical for a puppy, but he rarely does that and is learning quickly to break that habit. He also has selective hearing but is learning that "come" means come, and not "come chase me".

All in all, he is a wonderful dog and is very obedient, once he understands what you want.
