****Bowser is ADOPTED!****

After another round of antibiotics and a great recovery from his neuter, Bowser is finally able to go to the forever home lined up for him since his first week with L.E.A.R.N.! His new family includes Susan and Richard of Dubuque, Iowa, who are already parents to two lovely cats, a rescued pug, and a yellow lab of their own, Koki. Bowser and Koki have grown quite fond of each other during Bowser's adoption prep, and now run together, play together, eat together, and sleep together. Two peas in-a-pod, you will see them enjoying their bones in the yard together in a recent photo post. Thank you to everyone who followed and supported Bowser's assimilation into the good life of a healthy, happy dog!

On Bowser:

Bowser has all the much-desired qualities of a perfect Lab. He is gentle, affectionate, and eager to please. He has dense, soft, and glossy black hair and kind eyes. Though cautious of surprise appearances of his housemates, Bowser has quickly learned the tranquility of stable home life. He is pleasantly house-trained, enjoys snuggling on the couch, and is becoming quite skilled in the art of car-riding.

After a rough start in life, his ability to rebound is incredible. At an estimated 1-year old, we expected more energy from Bowser after settling in.  We learned when his blood work came back from the Vet that he tested positive for Lyme's Disease. His first round of antibiotics as rejuvenated him!  He absolutely loves toys and is learning to play fetch with great enthusiasm. Unlike any dog his housemates have seen before, Bowser has proven himself to be an incredible jumper - reaching heights in excess of 4 feet with ease.

Bowser enjoys being outside and responds incredibly well to being called when in a wide-open space. Everything from sparrows to rabbits to squirrels catch his eye, and he has even pointed instinctively to say so! Though his greatest accomplishment so far is the seeking and retrieval of a lost glove, he has done many wondrous things without command and shows great promise as a companion for outdoor adventures of all kinds.

Quick-learning and social with other dogs after trust is established, Bowser's understanding of simply being a happy dog has increased significantly with regular exposure to a confident female Labrador. Though he hasn't been around children, he appreciates a warning and a treat from new people and would likely do well with them with children provided care was taken to establish trust early on.

After a round of antibiotics and a smooth neuter surgery, Bowser has continued to blossom. His energy level is high and incompatible with his doctor's orders, so we try to limit him to destroying his toys to pass the time until he is able to go out for adventures again. His youthfulness is refreshing though, as it has been a while since we've had a true puppy around. Bowser brings everything to life and has given us many humor-filled moments!
