Update 3/1/14 - I have been with my foster family for a month now, and things are going great. My ears are much better. I am very quiet and a great indoor dog but also like to sit on patio in the sun when it is not so cold. I have gained a couple of pounds so I do not look so thin. The meter reader man came in the house, and I did not jump on him at all, just followed him quietly to the basement and back up again. I am very good with guests. My name is Sammie. I am a black Lab almost 7 years old and looking for a forever home. Right now, I am staying with my foster family, and I get along great with their dog, Dakota. I am a little timid and very, very sweet. I behave well in the house. I do not get into things that I shouldn't and like to chew on bones or stuffed toys. I like to play outside but also like to curl up on a soft dog bed and relax. I do not bark much but will yip at the back door if I have to go outside. I am tall and a little bit thin but am eating well. I tend to eat really fast so my fosters give me food in portions, and I sit in between to slow me down. I also have a special segmented bowl I can use. I had yeast infection in my ears when I first came to LEARN but have been getting medication and having my ears cleaned so they are much better. I am up-to-date on shots and am heartworm negative :-) . I know sit, stay and am trying to learn some other commands. I am a wonderful, peaceful dog and love affection. I am healthy and have a lot of great years ahead.
