***** Medical Hold ***** Hi Again! Just wanted to give you a quick update on me. I had my surgery a couple weeks ago and got my stitches out yesterday. The doctor says that I am doing really well, and I don't even have to have the bandage bandage put back on! I am already bearing some weight on my leg and walking better. I start physical therapy in a week or so and that will help me get the strength back in my leg. That's all that is new for now, but I will keep you posted. :-) ***** Medical Hold ***** Hello. My name is Blackie, and I am 9 years old. My previous owner had to go to an assisted living facility that didn't allow dogs. So now I am with LEARN. That's okay, though. Some really great people are taking care of me, and I have some other dogs to play with. I am a pretty easy going guy, and I know a lot already. Sit, down, off, roll over, and I supposedly even know how to play dead by saying bang bang, but no one has figured out how to get me to do that yet. Maybe you can! :) When I came in to LEARN, I had some pretty bad teeth so I had a dental cleaning and had 2 teeth removed. Now I have great teeth and much better breath. :) I like to play and romp with the other dogs. While doing that, they noticed that one of my hind legs was pretty stiff, and I didn't use it much. So the Vet took a look at it and discovered I have a torn ACL that will need to be repaired. It has hurt for awhile now, but it doesn't stop me from being a great guy. I have surgery coming up in a week for the ACL followed by 8 weeks of rehab. I won't be available for adoption until I am all healed up, but I wanted to let you all know about me. I'll give you all updates along the way, too. Once I'm all better, I'll make someone a great companion and friend! So, please keep me in mind. Blackie :)
