UPDATE: Couldn't wait to tell everyone that I am now off medical hold!! And now that the activity restriction has also been lifted, I am having so much fun playing with my foster pack, especially young-stuff Vegas; he and I LOVE to flush out all the birdies from underneath the pine trees. Vegas can run really fast, but guess what: I can run even faster!! Well, I've got to quick fit in a morning nap before we head outside to play again, but I just wanted everyone to know how well I am doing and how happy I am (and grateful, too) for this second chance at a wonderful new life. They tell me I am such a happy-go-lucky boy, and I love those two words: happy and lucky!!! I'll ask my foster mom to take some pictures of me running and playing outside, so you can see me on the move.

Hi everyone! Please meet Buddy, who is the sweetest 7 year old Labbie. Unfortunately, Buddy tested positive for heartworm disease. He has now completed the treatment, but he will need to be on medical hold for another month until he is rechecked and given the all clear.

Buddy is doing beautifully in his foster home; he gets along fabulously with a large pack of rescue Labs, ranging in age from 3 years to 13 1/2 years. Buddy simply wants to be everyone's little buddy. And little he is! But that doesn't stop him from running with the big boys, and he can't wait to be done with the restricted activity period, so he can help his foster brothers flush out the birdies from the pine trees.

In a nutshell, Buddy is an adorable, happy fellow, whose tail never stops wagging. He is very well-mannered, polite, and respectful. He walks very nicely on a leash. Buddy also has free roam of the house day and night and doesn't get into anything---oops, except for that one evening when there was just too great of a temptation: fresh peanut butter cookies on the counter! Buddy wasn't the only Lab in the kitchen at the time, however, so he may have had some "help." ;-)

More photos and updates to come in a couple weeks. In the meantime, sweet little kisses from Buddy!
