Hi Cupid checking in here...I am sporting a fashion statement these days! I am in heat, so my foster parents got me a set of diapers so I don't make a mess in the house. Once I am through this phase, I get to go visit the nice pet doctors and get a little surgery.
I learned that I am AKC registered, with a number and everything. I think I might have been one of the last pups at the breeder to make that claim (well my litter mates also) so that is exciting.
I have learned to give my foster mom and dad cues for when I need to go outside. I have my "favorite" area of the backyard to do my business. I do my business and then head back to the house. I am not much for playing yet. I do trot a little bit with my foster sister, but I prefer the snuggle time next to foster mom / dad or on the nice soft bed in my crate.
I like going on walks, I get to smell so many new scents around the neighborhood. And the leash doesn't bother me. My foster dad says I do a good job walking on leash, I don't pull and walk alongside him.
My one "naughty" habit - I start whining around 2:00am everyday. My foster dad has taken me outside almost every night, but I don't have to go. My foster mom thinks I am just checking to make sure my new humans are still there. I think she is right - this house living is a new experience, I just want to make sure I am still inside and not in a bad dream.

Hi my name is Cupid, I am a Christmas baby born on December 25, 2020. When I came to my foster home, I was underweight, the vet said I needed to gain 10lbs before I am able to have my spay surgery. My foster family says we need to go slow and steady to get me up to a healthy weight. While we work on "fattening" me up, we are working on basic commands of sit, stay, come, down, etc. but I still need more work. I think I am a fast learner, I have already mastered the "paws" command which in my foster home means to sit and dry my paws on the towel by the back door. This makes sure I don't track muddy paw prints through the house. I have a great foster sister to teach me the ropes. I tend to startle at sudden noises, but my human foster brothers play musical instruments called the Tuba and Alto Saxophone. They are both really good and practice daily, and it doesn't bother me. I just perk my head up to listen for a new song.
I love meeting new people and other doggie friends. I haven't played much with my foster sister yet, mainly because I just don't have that much energy from being underweight.
I have found a love for my soft dog bed, who knew these things existed! I have my own bed that is kept in a crate. I currently sleep in my crate at night, and even seek it out during the day when my foster family is home. If my family has to close the door because they are working in another room or leaving the house, I don't get upset...I just lay down and take a short nap.
I have had a few accidents in the house, but that is because we are learning routines and communication skills. Just like my human foster brothers, when mom or dad suggest I try potty, I should try. I am getting better everyday. I just need more practice.
My foster parents are seeing a change in me as I slowly gain weight. I even trotted yesterday while on a leash in the backyard. Seeing the leash doesn't scare me, mainly because that means I get to go outside and sniff everything.
Currently, my biggest struggle is stairs. I do great on a few steps from the backyard or garage into the house, I just don't know what to think when there are more than two. I see my foster sister running down them to lay by my foster dad when he works from home, I just don't know how she gets down there.
PS - I love scratches...but then again who doesn't?
