Hello Labbie Lovers!! My name is Kode (pronounced Cody) and I am a five month old lab puppy. I came up from Kentucky with my sister, Lettie...but had to keep our mom back there because she was heartworm positive. Once she is treated and feeling better, she can come to LEARN and also be adopted. A little about myself, I am a very curious and smart young boy. Within a week of being at my foster home, I can go into my kennel when my people are leaving (and get a treat afterwards) and when I am being fed. Just imagine, both times I get some kind of food reward...LIFE IS GREAT!! Like all puppies...I can be rambunctious, energetic, and very playful. I am telling you this because not everyone knows what is involved in taking care of a puppy. Some people see my cute face and think..."OH...I Want That!!" without realizing the challenges I will bring to your life. But aside from that, I already told you that I am smart...and learning new things everyday...like this thing called, "walking on a leash". Before LEARN picked my family up, I did not know what a walk was. And the first time my foster family had me on a leash, it was not the prettiest sight to see. But with work, a solid foundation from my humans in training, and constant rewards, I am getting the hang of it. I no longer pull the other way!! And my humans are teaching me, "heel position", when we walk. I live with another dog, which I feel would be the best fit for me. We play hard, run as fast as we can around the yard, and take his toys without regard. I also live with three children and a cat (which is a fun creature that always seems to want to scratch at me...I am just trying to sniff it!) Also, in order for me to be brought up from Kentucky, I needed a foster home to take me in. If no one stepped up, me and my mom and sister would have been euthanized. Please consider fostering.
