Lucy is a sweet, 9 year old, purebred, yellow Lab who was surrendered by her owners to a shelter in Chicago. She came into the shelter at a whopping 122 pounds! When we got her she was down to 116, and in one week she has lost another 4 pounds. She is a very large Lab, especially for a female. She is just simply a 'Big Boned Girl' and is very sturdy. I would estimate a good weight for her is probably about 90 to 95 pounds. She has no issues whatsoever, other than being a bit on the lazy side. But boy, when she knows she going for a walk, look out. She's ready to go. And if she sees a squirrel, look out. I can't believe she can move that fast.

She is crated at our house only because I want my dogs to be able to lie on their beds when I'm at work, and she has taken a liking to hog both of their beds, which of course gets their noses out of joint. She is perfectly housebroken and not in the least bit destructive so she really doesn't need to be crated, but she doesn't mind it.

She clearly has had very bad ear infections that were left untreated her whole life.  So she has a thickening in her ears from hematomas that have built up over the years. They don't bother her, and her ears are now free of infection with just a good cleaning and medication. She will need occasional ear cleanings to keep on top of that though (what Lab doesn't?). She also has what look like warts on her lower legs, mostly the back legs, but the vet said not to worry about them, since they are benign and don't bother her.

She is wonderful on walks, although she does pull a little bit at first, and is great with every dog she meets on the street. Not sure about cats, but she is so sweet I can't imagine her not being cat friendly. She will be getting a dental cleaning and is having one of her canine teeth extracted in a couple of days, but after that she will be ready for her forever home.

Lucy is not an active dog; she's not going to play fetch or be a running partner, but if you're looking for a big sweetheart who loves to hang with her humans and loves attention...especially belly rubs, she's your gal.
