Benny

Hi, I’m Benny! I had a pretty bad start in life, but I am slowly starting to re-gain my trust in people. Men REALLY scare me, so I would do best in an all female home. My foster mom loves me very much, and even wants to keep me, but I cannot stay.
I love all animals, and would like a home with at least one other dog. I also need a fenced in yard so I can stretch out my super long legs! I love to be outside, especially off-leash, but I am not an outdoor only dog! I am house trained, but I get bored easily, if you ever leave me home alone I will need to be crated (my mom said that she will let me take my crate to my new home).
I am 4 years old, neutered, up to date with my vaccinations, and microchipped. If you are a special lady looking for a special dog, please call or e-mail my foster mom so I can meet you!

Daisy

Hi everyone. My name is Dixie. I am a beautiful, small 4-year old Treeing Walker Coonhound.

My life didn’t start out too well. For most of my first 2 years, I was abused & neglected. I was tied to a tree without access to food or water, except for what the neighbors brought over for me. The neighbors finally convinced the people I lived with to surrender me to a Shelter. By that time, I was almost emaciated. That was when my life turned around!

A very nice woman took me into foster where I lived with 7 other dogs. She says I am the sweetest thing on 4 legs.  Then, I was adopted by a woman who has another Treeing Walking Coonhound and spent the next year living the life of Riley with them. However, my mom’s circumstances changed. She became engaged to a man who has a toddler, and I didn’t do well with the toddler. The toddler isn’t old enough to give me direction. So, I took advantage and tried to boss her around and do some demand pulling. My mom reluctantly decided I would be better off in another home. So, I am currently living in a foster home near Madison, WI.

I am very affectionate and people-oriented. I love lying at your feet or resting my head on your lap. I actually get along very well with children, but one-on-one, they need to be old enough to give me direction. I am an active girl and like to chase & be chased. I love playing with other dogs. My ideal family would have a fenced yard so I can run around & play chase & fetch with them without a leash. My ideal family would also be committed to working with me, acting as my leader and providing me with structure and routine.

I am crate-trained and housebroken. I’ve been to Obedience Class. I am up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed & on heartworm preventative. I will not make a good hunting dog, but, with the right family, I will make a great companion.

Want to know more about me? Please email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), and use my name, Dixie, in the subject line.

Lou

Lou is a 9 year old male Labrador, German shepherd mix. Lou weighs about 70 lbs, is neutered, and has a gorgeous crème coat with golden brown eyes. He is a very sweet and intelligent dog that sits on command and can catch treats in his mouth. He loves people and gets along well with our dogs. Most of the time he is very mellow and easy going, but he also has a playful side and enjoys soft plush toys and chewies. He has excellent manners and never has accidents or becomes destructive. He likes to go on walks and is very well behaved on the leash never tugging or pulling. He is on an inexpensive medication for his hypothyroidism that he takes in the morning and night that he has done well on now for some years. His former owners gave him up because of a move and a new child on the way. If you are interested in Lou please call 847-254-2131 and we can arrange a visit.
