Adopted!!!

Hi, my name is Wade. I’m 7 months old. I was brought to a shelter with my brother, Bear, since my family didn’t have time for us. A nice lady at LEARN saw how nice we were and saved us. I’m a black Lab/mix. I look just like a Lab, but I’m very tall and slender. If my ears were any longer, I would trip over them. Everyone says how adorable I am; it makes me blush. I’m a pretty big guy.

I love everything and everyone. I live with two foster brothers, two cats, and a toddler. I could play 24/7. I really get into my playing so much that I forget that there are people around. I could care less about the cats.

I don’t mind the little boy in the house. I don’t nip or jump. I don’t jump on anyone for that matter. When I’m playing, I really get into it so much that I’ve knocked him over a few times by accident. I love his stuffed animals. My mom keeps tucking them in the toy box, and I just dig them out. A little stuffing on the floor never hurt anyone, right?

I’ve recently been introduced to the dog park. Oh, man, was that fun! I got to run with the other dogs and my brothers, swim in the makeshift pond from all the rain, chew on lots of sticks, someone even had a tennis ball. What a great time I had at the dog park.

My foster parents say I have great house manners for my age. I don’t counter surf, jump on people, or bark like my foster brothers do. I do bark when I’m playing though. I’m housebroken too. They tell me I have to wait to go through doors and down stairs instead of racing ahead of everyone. I can’t win the race that way!

I’ll need someone dedicated to working with me on my obedience training. I do sit nicely and we’re working really hard on stay. I have so much energy that it’s really hard to do. I’ll also need someone dedicated to giving me lots of exercise.

I’ve always had another dog as a companion so I seem to do better with that. I’d rather have a canine brother or sister.
