If you think a LEARN dog would be a good fit in your life, please complete an adoption application. We match applicants with the appropriate dog based on our knowledge and experience. If you are interested in a specific dog, please indicate that on your application, but that does not guarantee that dog will still be available once you've completed the application process.

If you have already been approved to adopt a LEARN dog, and you are interested in me, please

Adopted!!!

Hi! My name is Mimi and I’m eleven months old. I was adopted from a humane society as a baby, and was recently returned because my owners didn’t want me anymore. My foster mom can’t imagine anyone giving me up because she says I am a big sweetheart with lots of love to give! I love giving hugs and kisses, and curling up with my foster mom at night. Thank goodness LEARN picked me up just in time! My foster family fell in love with me right away (I must say it’s easy to do)! J

My foster mom says she has a big spot in her heart for me because I was terrified at first. I have really come out of my shell in the first week with my foster family, but I am still very scared of the stairs, and won’t go up stairs for anything! I went to the vet my first week for a check up and to have my ears looked at. There was some thought that I have an ear infection because I tilt my head to the side all of the time. Apparently, the vet saw no signs at all of an ear infection, and mentioned that my head tilt could be due to some trauma I endured—whatever that means. Anyway, I earned a clean bill of health with no serious repercussions to my head tilt, other than my foster mom thinking it’s endearing—like I’m really listening to what you are saying!

I am told I have a wonderful lab personality! I have very good manners for a puppy. I am housetrained, know how to sit, come when I am called, and love playing ball! I do jump a bit and bark when I get excited, but we are working on that right now. I love my foster lab sister so much, but she is entering her senior years and can be a bit of a bore. I try to play with her, but she really isn’t interested. So instead, we find it fun to eat at the same time out of the same bowl together! HA! For some reason, my foster family thinks that is hilarious. I have a blast running around outside with my two human foster sisters—I get along great with young kids, although I might jump up on them when I get really excited.

I will turn one year old on November 15. My dream is to spend my first birthday with my forever family. If you have room in your heart for a little, beautiful girl like me, please call LEARN ASAP. I am very hopeful about my future and can’t wait to meet and love my new family!
