Adopted!!!

Hi Lab Lovers!

My name is Johnny and I am an adorable 6 month old black lab puppy. My old family dropped me off at a shelter and when my time was almost up a nice lady from L.E.A.R.N. came and saved me. I got to meet a lady my foster parents call “the vet” and she said that I am a little skinny, which means that I get seconds at dinner time and lots of treats for learning things like “sit.” But I am already 42 pounds, so my foster parents think I am going to grow into a big healthy man!

I really like to play a lot and will even fetch over and over. Sometimes I try to play with my 5 year old foster brother, too – we get along just fine. The shelter I was at said that I get along fine with cats. Since I am a puppy, I have a lot of energy, so my favorite things to do are to play, go on walks, and run around in the yard. At the Pawgust Fest I had lots of fun running around the lure course. I am working hard on these things called manners. So far I have learned to come when my name is called and I am working on “sit.” My foster parents remind me that I have to sit before I eat my food, before I go out the door, and if I try to jump. Sometimes when I get really excited I accidentally jump on my foster mom and dad, but they are trying to show me not to do that because I could easily knock over a toddler. I am also learning that I have to do my business outside. Sometimes though I get so excited while playing inside that I forget and have an accident. I love playing with my toys, especially my plush cow, the rope toy, the nylabone, and the squeaky ball. Once in a while I get confused, but listen when mom and dad redirect me to chew on the right thing. I am very eager to learn and can’t wait to go to this place they call obedience class!

Even though I have a lot of puppy energy, my foster parents think I am very sweet and affectionate. If you are lucky I will give you a kiss! Sometimes I snuggle with my foster parents and take a short nap in their lap if they let me. My foster parents also tell me that I have a great personality. I am really hoping to find my forever family and be the perfect lifelong companion. Could it be you?

Puppy love, Johnny
