If you think a LEARN dog would be a good fit in your life, please complete an adoption application. We match applicants with the appropriate dog based on our knowledge and experience. If you are interested in a specific dog, please indicate that on your application, but that does not guarantee that dog will still be available once you've completed the application process.

Adopted!!!

My name is Hank. My foster dad likes to call me Hank the Tank and that really makes me wag my tail. Somehow I got lost from my family and some nice people took me in for a few months hoping that my owners would be looking for me – no such luck. Fortunately, these good Samaritans called LEARN and I was able to come into foster care. Part of being a foster dog means that I get to go to the vet and be checked over and get my shots. One other thing they do is a heartworm test. Well, that was bad news, I have heartworms. I have had my second treatment and have one more to go before checking to see if we have killed all the worms. The worst part of the treatment is not being able to play with the other dogs – I have to stay on a leash or in my crate as exercise is a “no, no” when going through treatment. The treatments are also expensive.

Some others things you might like to know about me is that I really like to go for rides in the car, I like my crate, am good with the other dogs but not so good with the cat. I could use some work on my leash manners – I pull a little bit but know how to sit and lay down when you ask me to. As you can see I also like to lie on the couch. My foster mom thinks I’m about 5 yrs old.

I’ll send an update once my heartworm treatments are finished.
Lots of labbie love,
Hank
