If you think a LEARN dog would be a good fit in your life, please complete an adoption application. We match applicants with the appropriate dog based on our knowledge and experience. If you are interested in a specific dog, please indicate that on your application, but that does not guarantee that dog will still be available once you've completed the application process.
If you have already been approved to adopt a LEARN dog, and you are interested in me, please

Adopted!!!
UPDATE: I just thought I would send in a couple of new pictures of me to show you I am now a much happier boy and my coat is shiny too. Another thing my foster Mom found out is that I play. We dog sat for a 10-month-old puppy for the week end and she and I just played and played. It was so much fun. I was very sorry to see her go home. Just wanted to let everybody know that I am a healthy, happy and a very handsome boy that is still looking for his forever home.
I have been named Bart as in Black Bart the gentleman robber of the Old West. The name is proving to be a good one for me. I LOVE food! I must confess that I am a counter surfer and if there is food on a table, especially a low one, I will very quietly sneak up so you don’t notice me and help myself. When my foster Mom tells me that I am a bad dog and I shouldn’t do that I try very hard to look sorry but did I tell you I LOVE food?
Other than that I have turned out to be a very good, happy go lucky, kind of guy. I usually have two toys in my mouth at the same time and when my tail wags my whole body wiggles.
I was picked up as a stray and turned over to L.E.A.R.N. by a kill shelter. I am at least 5 years old and have now learned to be a good housedog. My foster brother and I play once in awhile but not very often although we get along very well. As you can see by one of my pictures I like to just sit in the yard and watch the world go by. I even sit to eat my meals!
If you are looking for a dog to play ball with I am not your guy. If I bring it back to you twice it is really something. I would rather lay in the yard and chew on it. I am very laid back and just enjoy lying around chewing on a bone. I love to go places and am very quiet in the car. I do know some commands and have learned how to sit and wait for food and treats. I stay in the crate when my foster Mom goes to work but I have the run of the house when she does errands and at night when I sleep on a dog bed on the bedroom floor. I do seem to have some sort of allergies because I nibble on my feet and lower legs. The doctor gave me an itchy shot and that helped a lot.
My wish for a forever home is one that just wants a companion, a good buddy and someone to go on walks with and give me belly rubs. Those are the best! I am also a good watchdog and when I hear something I will go to investigate what it might be. You must love kisses too. I sure hope there is someone out there just right for me!
